Reproduction

Like most Danio feegradei do not care about their offspring.

Under acceptable conditions, the fish will spawn periodically and no intervention is required. All would be well, but in this case, the survival rate of fry is extremely low. In order to keep the stock of young fish need to breed in a specially designated spawning aquarium for this purpose. To do this, select an aquarium of 60-80 liters and fill it half full of water. At the bottom to place a separator grid or plant bushes of javanese moss. The water should be slightly acidic or neutral pH values and its temperature should be within 24-25° C. Drainage nozzle of the internal water filter should be directed along the back wall of the aquarium.

In the spawning tank is planted 1-2 pairs of producers. Spawning stimulated by adding a small amount of cold water every few hours so that the spawning tank was filled with water to the top level. During the day you need to replace ½ of the water with fresh. All this time the producers should be fed live and frozen food.

During the spawning process, the female chaotically spawns eggs all over the spawning tank. Immediately after spawning, the spawners are removed. The eggs are incubated, depending on the water temperature, for 3-7 days. The fry begin to swim 1-2 days after birth.
